Boot 2

Boot 2 replaced an earlier version named 'Boot'  It is based upon an old English sheep dog, the 'Dulux' dog from the advert for a brand of household paint. More specifically the dog that belonged to the 'Perishers', a comic strip that  ran from about 1959-2006 in the Daily Mirror. This was about a group of urban children who went on adventures. Boot always accompanied them and had philosophical thoughts in the form of a speech bubble above his head. He always seemed to have a knowing smile which I have tried to include. I had intended putting more paint brushes in the work but they did not look right - except for the tail. There are possibly 30,000 nails or more in this work. This is a really friendly dog and often seems to have it's tongue out.' Finished in June 2021. Dimensions Height-105cm Length-115cm Width-35cm
